Bought these for Mayra a couple days ago from Zappos.com and they just arrived! These are the new version of Brooks Pure Connect, 2.0. When I purchased these I only found one review by someone with odd shape feet, who didn’t like the fit (go figure).
Anyway version 1.0 got rave reviews, so I decided to take the plunge with version 2.0. The ones pictured are the ScubaBlu, and are very bright in person. They weight only a little over 5 ounces (5.9 to be exact, as indicated on the brooksrunning.com website, but Zappos shows them at 7.0 oz, hmmm), but for a minimal shoe they do have some support.
Mayra is trying to get back in shape following her pregnancy. She is following “Phaze 1” which requires some running. I guess her old shoes just didn’t fit any more (likely story to get new shoes). Anyway she wanted something very light, but with a bit of support. Hope these do the trick.
I’ll get her feedback after her next run and tell you what she thought.
Oh, one other thing. The sizing for the Brooks shoes was strange. Mayra normally wears a 7.5 in other shoes, but with their 3D sizing program, they recommended an 8.5 in the PureConnect 2.
