How to raise money to buy equipment for your new CrossFit garage gym part two.

  • Font size: Larger Smaller

So your needs are big, you lack most of the equipment you’ll need to build your garage gym and it’s going to cost you more than a few bucks. Well your going to have to get your hands dirty, your going to have to get out of your comfort zone and you may even have to pimp yourself out (Just Kidding).  Here are a few of my "I need to make big money" ideas for getting the cash you need. If these suggestions don't work for you, I'll also list money making websites and other resources that I've found, in a third and final article, that you can use in your quest for cash. I will be publishing that article sometime next week.

So what would I do if I were you?

Sell off your old junk. In one of my first posts I wrote when I was trying to earn money for my garage gym "Crossfit home gym build week 2" to make the majority of the cash I needed. Read that article here.

So what would I do if I were you?

  1. Sell off your old junk. In one of my first posts I wrote when I was trying to earn money for my garage gym "Crossfit home gym build week 2" to make the majority of the cash I needed. Read that article here.

  2. Sell one big item. Most of us have one big ticket item we could sell. It might be a motorcycle we love but never drive, an old car that we always promise to fix up but never do or any of the other numerous gotta have toys we’ve collected and never use. So what can you get rid of? I’m sure you don’t have to think long, Its usually something that you could easily get a grand or more for, it hasn’t been used in quite awhile and it hurts your gut to think you might have to sell it. Let me help, ITS ONLY AN OBJECT, if you haven’t used it in six months chances are you can let it go. Ya it will hurt at first but in the end you’ll be happy you got rid of it. When you’re done crying about it you can use the cash you made buying something you will actually use.

  3. Sell your services. Whoa! Not what you think. You will have to get creative here but I’m sure you have a skill that you could sell, something that someone would be willing to pay for. Computer re-pair, mechanical repairs etc… Almost like a small business, but for one small purpose to earn extra cash. Don’t worry, it won’t be forever, just until you get what you want. I know your strapped for time, but even doing little side jobs on the weekends could get you’re a couple grand in a few months.

  4. Get an extra job! Who me? No way! Well if you have no skills you can sell, you have nothing large to sell and your flat broke you might have to. I know the thought sucks, but if your current job doesn’t give you the extra cash you need, maybe this is the route you should take. You have to have the spare time though, because nothing will derail your garage gym hopes faster than a lonely wife. Remember to play your cards carefully, and if you need serious advice, read my article “How to convince your wife you need to build a garage gym”.

  5. Borrow the cash from friends and family. Ya its easier to use a credit card but unless you want to get stuck paying off your gym equipment forever you might have to suck it up, swallow your pride and ask. Now if you ask me for money I’d just laugh, but there are suckers born everyday. They usually come with the title of “Mom” and I’m sure you know one. If you tell your personal “Sucker” your worried about your health and just want to be around for your wife and kids, you might have the money before you know it. On the other hand they might laugh in your face and tell you to get a better job, but if you’re at your wits end it might just work.

Like I promised at the beginning of this article I will be listing links and other resources I have found about the “HOW TO MAKE MONEY” subject, all to help kick start your money making machine. I will be publishing that article sometime next week so check back then.

In the end it’s all up to you. Do you have the drive and ambition to make your garage gym dreams a reality or is the idea going to fade like all your other plans? Set some goals, write a list on how you’re going to achieve those goals and get to it. Before long you’ll have all the gear you need and you’ll be well on your way to achieving you fitness goals.

Hope the ideas help. I’d love to hear what ideas you used to earn the money to build your garage gym.

See you in the hills.
