Week Four of the Paleo diet and the pounds keep dropping.

  • Font size: Larger Smaller

I finished my third week of the Paleo diet and things are going better than expected, I lost even more weight. As of my official weigh in (Tuesday), I was sitting at 237 lbs, which is a 17lb loss. Wow is all I can say about the results I’m seeing. The diet itself is hard to incorporate, mainly because of cost, lack of ingredients and prep time as I stated in an earlier post, but not impossible.

To help with the daily choice of meals Mayra is downloading a Paleo recipe book to her Kindle. She hopes it will give her a lot more ideas when it comes to recipes.

I haven’t noticed the massive increase in energy that some report when being on the diet. In fact some days I feel quite the opposite, I feel tired and worn out. Not blaming the diet though because it could be that I stepped up my workouts and am only taking one day off a week, which leaves me pretty exhausted towards my chosen rest day (Wednesdays). Dalay (Las Playas Restaurant owner, CrossFit games caterer and all around CrossFit guru) explained that I might need more fat content in my diet. She said she was having the same problem until she started increasing her “Good” fat intake. She accomplished this by eating more avocado’s, which she says really helped her energy level. Anyway I’m gonna give it a try.

On another plus note, I finally got my CrossFit Games tickets, but think I’ll only be able to attend on Sunday. Were in the middle of producing a new movie and I doubt I’ll be able to take an entire weekend off from shooting to attend. Plus if it’s as hot as it was last year, I won’t be to sad, one day will be enough.

One a side note, I was hoping on doing some sort of promotion for the Games, but I haven’t decided yet as to what that might be. If and when I do decide I’ll keep you posted.

Wish me luck with my diet!

See you in the hills.
