You can make this as healthy or semi healthy as you want. I figure anything is better than a real shake, or cheeseburger for lunch, you decide. I have been drinking one at lunch each day and they are pretty filling. My next step is to add some protein powder for an added benefit.
1 Tsp Dark Chocolate Powder
1 Tsp Honey
1 Pinch of Cinnamon
1 Tbsp Almond Butter or Peanut Butter (Almonds upset my stomach so I must use peanut butter)
½ Cup Coconut Milk
½ Cup Water
4 Ice Cubes
* Substitute the coconut milk with regular milk, or almond milk. Dairy is an issue for many, so prepare accordingly.
I found a similar recipe on Pinterest and changed it to my liking. I used a magic Bullet to blend, but a standard blender should work fine. On the original recipe it calls for frozen bananas, leaves out the ice cubes, and there is no honey. Since I am usually in a hurry, the frozen bananas were a no go. I also found by adding a little honey, it added that little bit of sweet it was missing.
The photo shows a thin straw. You actually need a thicker one. (It’s all I had for the photo).
Some of the Paleo recipes look great online, but are horrible when made. I’m hoping to save you the time and money, by only giving you the stuff that is edible. Great food doesn’t have to suck.
