Bilderz Battle 1 - Johnny Page 5:49 Time to Beat

Johnny came out last Thursday and destroyed any previous time. He got slowed by the wall (not shown), which cost him valuable time. If that hadn't of happened he would have easily had a time in the low five minute range or even the high fours. If you've always wanted to compete in something like this, look us up. We'll be running short battles like this monthly, leading up to our yearly Grueling event once a year.

Photos provided fitmom40.com - Copyright 2015April Sherman defines what it is to be fit over 40. There are many people out there that will spew advice, peddle products and give second hand advice. Then there are others that live what they preach. The owner of fitmom40.com, an avid adventure racer, mom, wife, and all around fire breather, was kind enough to answer a few questions I had about what to expect for my first Spartan Race coming up in June. I am a firm believer in getting advice from a reputable source. If you live it, eat it and breath it, I’ll listen. In fact I will actively seek out those that are successful in their niche. My reasoning is simple; you can’t know everything and instead of going through your own trial and error, use what other experts have learned from their own personal experiences, to help you excel in your endeavors. When it comes to adventure racing, April is that source. If you have read any of my posts on G+, or bilderz.com you will know that I am making an effort to change focus in my yearly goal setting and have broadened my horizons to include at least one or two adventure races this next year. Even though I’ve run numerous races in the past, the Spartan and the eight plus mile distance is new to me. I hate being un-prepared, so these are the questions I had, so thought I’d share. If you are new to adventure racing or want to move up your game a bit, read on.

Spartan Race Prep Run Day two Bilderz Beach Fitness

We are actively training for the upcoming Spartan Race in June. This past week at the Bilderz Beach Fitness proving grounds, we began to move toward what we may encounter during the race, this included rope climbs. Needless to say, the change in direction has left me pretty sore.Since running is not my thing, we have been doing longer runs on the weekend, apart from the usual training to build some longer distance endurance. Today was a burden run with a 30# slam ball in the dunes. It was not a long run and there were only three of us. My initial intent was to just do 9 minutes, but that actually stretched into around 12.On another note I am into day 15 of the Advocare 24 Day Challenge "test". If you have no idea what I am talking about, read some of my other posts or find me on google.com/+Bilderz. Long story short is that I am wondering what results I am getting that I could not get from regular food at this point. I just did a quick weigh in and the loss was marginal two weeks in, only -3lbs. This may be due to water retention, but I don't know at this point.Cost vs. rewards at this point is not looking that great for Advocare, but we'll see. My energy levels are up (read previous post on google.com/+Bilderz regarding my thoughts why), but I have yet to notice any visual confirmation that what I am doing is working (gut is still flabby).I'll have alot more to say when the Challenge is complete, but until then I am keeping my mind open.#Bilderz #PlutoniumBlackSee you one the beach.Lance

Training for Spartan Race Advocare update and more

a1sx2_Original1_IMAG3241_1.jpg
a1sx2_Thumbnail1_IMAG3246-1.jpg

I had the products still boxed waiting until after Jan 1st. I purchased a new GoPro Hero just for this project. (Which I love)With the Holidays officially over, people are flocking to the gym and trying onf fad or another. As an Advocare Distributor I've been asked about the 24 Day Challenge. Since I like to speak from a position of authority, I made a plan a couple of months back to test it out.Not to bore you, I ate myself into fatnitude the previous two months so I could go into the Challenge like most others.I am on day eight, and have made several videos talking specifics. If you don't have time to watch, let me sumarize. At this point (I'm only in 8 days of the 24), I like it, especially for those that are new to exercise and diet.Diet is key to seeing anything you've done in the gym. The Challenge, puts you on track immediately. With a simplified meal "guide" Advocare takes all the guesswork out of what and when to eat it.I think the main thing I'm noticing is that it is convienient. The products are not cheap, and I'm sure if you spent the time pouring over the ingredients you could feesibly go shopping and find stuff cheaper. That being said, with Advocare you know what you're getting, they test all their products and have a bunch of sciency folks backing the stuff. As for how it works compared to just eating a clean diet? Well it's still to early for me to notice any performance or visual results. I did a number on my body by eating the way I did, so the results will be evident if they come. Here is a starting photo. If YOU want to start with Advocare or the 24 Day Challenge, please order here. You could buy from someone else, but please help support this site, especially if the content was helpful. I am also in training for my first Spartan Race, which I'm pretty excited about. Since I hate running, it isn't something I regularly do, especially longer distance stuff. The race is 8+ miles so it should be interesting. If you have any experience with adventure type or Spartan Races in Particular I'd love some tips. Getting up early to workout aint easy.

a1sx2_Thumbnail2_IMAG3120.jpg

I have figured a few things out lately. First, working out early is lonely. Most people don't want to do it, period. Second, it is cold in the mornings which requires a lot more "gear". Heck I look forward to leg day so I can wear my Rebands to keep part of my legs warm. Third, I need an extra boost to get me going. Some use coffee, I use some Spark and Oatmeal. If this is written bad, it's because I am tired.... Go fitness :) (Did that sound enthusiastic ?).See you at my freexing cold ourdoor workout area.... Doubtful if it's to cold this morningThe tired Lance

Delicious Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake.

a1sx2_700_BilderzChocolateShakeMealReplacement.jpg

You can make this as healthy or semi healthy as you want. I figure anything is better than a real shake, or cheeseburger for lunch, you decide. I have been drinking one at lunch each day and they are pretty filling. My next step is to add some protein powder for an added benefit.
